Two of our Connecticut Young Professionals co-founder, Faris Virani and Christine Nguyen, were recently featured in a news segment discussing CTYP’s one year anniversary event:
Connecticut Young Professionals (CTYP) and partner Organization, the Future Leaders of Yale (FLY) came together to host a ‘Meet the Mayor’ happy hour at Roia in New Haven. In the first portion of the event, young professionals had a social hour in which they got to meet one another. In the second portion of the event, the young professionals were seated for a conversation between CTYP President, Faris Virani and Mayor Toni Harp. During the interview, Mayor Harp spoke about initiatives the city is taking to attract and retain young professionals.
I am a licensed pharmacist in Connecticut. I am a part of many professional organizations in my field, but I needed an outlet for non-pharmacy matters. CTYP has been a wonderful resource for both my professional and personal life. With so many different members, I have made multiple new business and social contacts. I’ve been able to grow my network, and I’ve also made many new friends. Through CTYP I found potential subletters for my apartment, I connected to other healthcare professionals outside my field, and I met influential leaders whose advice helped further my career. CTYP has brought me closer to meeting my goals in so many ways. I highly recommend joining CTYP – there’s something here for everyone!
